The Scripture we will recite together for meditation today is from the New Testament, Romans 8, verses 1 to 2. It is important to note that chapter references did not exist when the Bible was first written, but were added later for the convenience of searching and studying the Scriptures. Therefore, it is necessary for us to read through the context and let the Holy Spirit renew our minds and hearts through the powerful words of God Himself every time we are understanding the Scriptures. The author Paul, in chapter 7 of this book, describes his own struggle with sanctification, his cry of being trapped in the bondage of sinful flesh, and his thanksgiving for being set free in the Lord Jesus Christ. Dear friends, how is your life "nowadays"? Can you feel Paul's anguish or gratitude? At this moment, if you confess with one heart and one mouth that Jesus Christ is your Savior, you are not condemned, but justified by faith, and thus "free from the law of sin and death". Verse 2 refers to the life-giving Holy Spirit, where "life" is not only the fullness of life in the Lord Jesus Christ today, but also eternal life in the future! There are many references to the "Holy Spirit" in chapter 8, which is a great contrast to the previous chapter. If possible, read the whole chapter 8 with a prayerful and humble heart, and witness the wonderful work of the Holy Spirit!
